Tomar is right in the middle of Portugal, in the district of Santarém, where the main cities are Torres Novas, Entroncamento and Abrantes, besides Tomar.

It is 48 Km far from Leiria (National Road 113), 80 Km from Coimbra (NR 110) and a little more than 1 hour from Lisbon, using highway A1.

If you come from Oporto or Lisbon, leave highway A1 at Torres Novas and follow the signposts.
