This is a chapel placed at the south entrance of Tomar, next to national road EN 110 towards Lisbon, was constructed by Aires de Quental.

The chapel was dedicated, since its foundation, to St. Laurence, whose martyrdom is celebrated on 10 of August.
 
On the exterior, a standard marks the junction of the armies of the Master of Avis and D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, in 1385, before following to the battle of Aljubarrota.
